Home Menu2021 Future Land Use Plan Update
If the FLUP sounds familiar, that's because an update process for that plan was launched in 2018. That update ultimately hit a roadblock at the end of 2019 when City Council members at the time grappled with coming to consensus on a number of proposed changes.

**Note: the plan above differs from the "proposed materials" version you will find below because City Council discussed a handful of changes during their April 20 meeting.
The previous Future Land Use Plan was adopted on Aug. 31, 1998 and had been updated in a piecemeal fashion over the years through requests by individual property owners as part of development projects. Linked below are the 1998 Future Land Use Plan document as well as the Future Land Use Plan map that were in use prior to City Council's adoption of the update at their April 20, 2021 meeting.

The materials below included suggestions from the public made at the meetings on March 4 and 6 that were discussed with City Council at their March 16, 2021 meeting as part of work session. They were the final version of the proposal that were considered by the Planning & Zoning Commission at their meeting on Tuesday, March 23. The commission unanimously recommended approval.
Community members also had the option of sharing their comments about the proposed 2021 Future Land Use Plan Update virtually ahead of those public hearings.

2018 UPDATE PROCESS
Although a proposal brought before City Council near the end of 2019 for an update to the Future Land Use Plan was ultimately denied, residents may also benefit from reviewing some of the 2018 process history. You can find that background on the Future Land Use Plan 2018 Update page.
