LIMITATION (CEILING):
In August 2004, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 1209 establishing an ad valorem tax limitation on residential homesteads of the disabled and persons 65 years of age or older, and their spouses (tax ceiling), as authorized and defined by the Texas Constitution, Article VII, Section 1-b, and the Texas Tax Code, Chapter 11. The tax ceiling was effective for tax year 2005 (fiscal year 2005-2006).
