Residential Twice-Weekly Collection
Garbage collection occurs twice weekly for Keller residents, either Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday, depending on your address. Open the Garbage and Recycling Services brochure to the right to view the service maps.
Garbage should be placed curbside no later than 7 a.m. on collection days (but no earlier than 7 p.m. the night before).
- Customers must use containers (trash bags are acceptable) sufficient to hold all garbage materials. Containers must be securely closed to prevent scattering and accessibility to insects, rodents and animals. To avoid injury, trash containers, plastic bags and other disposable containers should not weigh more than 50 pounds when filled.
- Backdoor service is available for handicapped or disabled customers for a monthly rate of $25.21. Call 817-795-9300 for more information.
- No garbage that produces noxious odors is allowed, and customers cannot place any hazardous waste or liquids out for curbside collection.
Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste collection is available twice weekly. If prepared correctly, materials placed curbside on your first service day of the week will be collected by a separate CWD truck and taken to a compost facility. All items collected on your second service day will go to the landfill.
Loose brush in any amount will not be collected. Brush must be tied in bundles of 4 feet or shorter, weighing no more than 50 lbs. Leaves and lawn trimmings must be bagged. Households are limited to 10 bags/bundles per collection day. To keep spillage to a minimum, please ensure the weight of the contents is suitable for the bag/carton it is placed in.
Use biodegradable bags and/or biodegradable cotton/jute rope, twine, or string on your first service day to send materials to the compost facility. Do not bundle tree and brush trimmings with nylon rope, plastic, metal, garden hoses, or other non-compostable materials.
Use plastic bags to send materials to the landfill.
Please DO NOT put loose leaves in trash cans or carts. Leaves must be bagged according to the guidelines above.
Residential Bulk Waste Service and Special Hauls
CWD provides residential customers with bulk waste pick-ups on their second service day (Thursday or Friday) as part of their regular garbage collection, up to two (2) cubic yards. Acceptable items include old furniture, refrigerators (with certification that CFC's have been removed by a certified technician), water tanks, hot water heaters, washing machines, other large household appliances and materials resulting from minor remodeling (excludes construction debris defined as waste building materials from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations). Residents should remove or flatten all nails from fence panels or boards to avoid a puncture or safety hazard for the driver and helper loading them into the truck.
Special hauls may be required for large quantities of loose brush, tree stumps and other debris not meeting acceptable brush definitions. At customer's request, these items may be collected and disposed of by CWD for a special haul fee. The fee per special haul is based on the size of the load, which is measured by cubic yard. For information and to arrange for a special haul pick-up, contact CWD at 817-795-9300.
Door-side Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Waste Collection
Beginning Sept. 1, 2020 CWD will offer monthly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronics Waste (E-Waste) collection on a call-in basis. Residents can call CWD Customer Service at 817-795-9300 to request a collection kit that includes a collection bag, instruction sheet with pickup date and labels for unmarked containers. For a complete list of acceptable items click here.
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE SAFETY REMINDERS WHEN PREPARING HHW OR E-WASTE FOR COLLECTION:
1. Never mix materials; there may be an adverse chemical reaction!
2. Keep materials in their original containers whenever possible.
3. Always seal containers to prevent leakage.
4. Label any items that are not clearly marked.
